Congratulations to the California Gold Senior team who took 4th place at the recent 2008 U.S. Synchronized Team Skating Championships, and to the Intermediate team for their 6th place finish! February, 2008
Congratulations to the California Gold Senior team on their Pacific Coast Synchronized Sectional Championships win! The California Gold Senior team also placed 7th at the Cup of Berlin in January. The California Gold Senior team is in its third year as a team,performing a short program to "Dragon - The Bruce Lee Story," and free skate program to "Orange Colored Sky" by Natalie Merchant. Congratulations also go out to the California Gold Intermediate team for its second place finish at the Pacific Coast Synchronized Sectional Championships in their first year as a team! January, 2008

Senior Synchro Team California Gold takes 4th at Synchro Nationals!! California Gold placed 4th at the 2007 Synchro National Championships, and has also been named to the Synchro Team C Envelope. Congratulations to All Year FSC members competing in recent International Events! At the Junior Grand Prix in Taipei, Caroline Zhang won her 2nd event of the season and has qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final. Caroline won this event with almost the exact same score as her earlier event in Mexico City. Traveling to Taipei with Caroline was Dice Murakami. Dice was 2nd in the Short program and completed the event in 4th place. All Year FSC was also represented by three skaters at the recent Karl Schaffer Memorial International in Vienna, Austria. Danielle Kahle skated two good programs and finished in 2nd place. Dennis Phan and Michael Villarreal were 6th and 7th, respectively, in a strong group of men. Congratulations to Caroline, Dice, Danielle, Dennis and Michael. We look forward to seeing you all back in Los Angeles! September 17, 2006

AYFSC Skaters Sweep National Showcase! The 2006 National Showcase competition was held last week in Oaklawn, Illinois, in which three of the club's skaters competed. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to: Michelle Hanabusa, Crystalrose Guerra, and Tetona Jackson. Michelle, Crystalrose and Tetona swept the "Parade of Champions" event with first, second and third place showings respectively. June 24, 2006
Tammy Gambill Wins USOC Developmental Coach of the Year Award! The All Year FSC is very proud announce that club member, Tammy Gambill, has won this prestigious award. A hearty Congratulations from All Year FSC! (6/24/06) - U.S. Figure Skating coach Tammy Gambill (Redlands, Calif.) was named the 2005 U.S. Olympic Committee Developmental Coach of the Year last night at the Night of Champions event at the U.S. Olympic Assembly in La Jolla, Calif. In 2005, Gambill coached three skaters to U.S. titles – junior ladies champion Sandy Rucker, novice men's champion Austin Kanallakan, and juvenile girls champion Julie Kim. She is the current chair of the U.S. Figure Skating Coaches Committee, member of the Professional Skaters Association's Board of Directors, and past member of U.S. Figure Skating's Board of Directors. She is also a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Athlete Development Committee and Sports Sciences and Medicine Committee. Besides Kim, Gambill currently coaches 2004 Junior Grand Prix Final champion Dennis Phan, 2006 U.S. novice men's sixth-place finisher Richard Dornbush, 2006 U.S. novice ladies fifth-place finisher Victoria Rackohn, 2006 U.S. intermediate ladies bronze medalist Ellie Kawamura and 2006 U.S. junior men's fourth-place finisher Daisuke Murakami. U.S. Olympic and Pan American sports organizations selected their 2005 National, Developmental and Volunteer Coaches of the Year as part of the USOC Coach of the Year Recognition Program. The five finalists in each category were selected by a panel of former coaches and officials. Other finalists for the Developmental Coach of the Team Award were Jay Benner (Tacoma, Wash./USA Swimming), Susan Butz-Stavin (Fleetwood, Pa./U.S. Field Hockey), Jimmy Jang (Marquette, Mich./U.S. Speedskating) and Maureen O'Toole Purcell (Danville, Calif./USA Water Polo). * Reprinted with permission from U.S. Figure Skating |
