In a field of 45 ladies, AY member Karen Zhou placed first in both the Senior Ladies short and long programs at the 2010 U.S. Collegiate Championships. AY member Courtney Donovan also took the Junior Ladies silver medal. Both ladies attend UC Irvine. Congratulations to Karen, & Courtney! July, 2010
Athlete Assistance Funding U.S. Figure Skating 2010-11 Scholastic Honors Team Designed to recognize and provide support to competitive figure skaters who have excelled not only in their sport, but in academics and through community contributions. Junior and senior high school students are invited to apply Deadline: Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. MST Memorial Fund’s Academic Skaters’ Assistance Program (ASAP) & Competitive Skater’s Assistance Program (CSAP) Assists current and former skaters enrolled in an accredited college or university and still actively involved in figure skating. Support through ASAP is intended to be used to defray educational expenses (tuition, fees, books and supplies.) Deadline: Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. MST 2010 Joyce Komperda Athlete Support Fund Awards scholarships to intermediate, novice and junior athletes showing exceptional potential and who demonstrate financial need.
